Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREIN (RIEN) ROELOFS 1931 - 2004 Rein passed away quietly after a lengthy illness, on March 31, 2004 at the Red River Place Personal Care Home. He leaves behind three brothers and six sisters all still residing in the Netherlands. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Henri Roelofs in 1958 and Mrs. Grade Roelofs-van den Heuvel in 1991; brother Jos in 1989; and sister Helma in 1999. Rein was born in Den Bos, the Netherlands on April 20, 1931. He worked for quite a few years in the Netherlands and other parts of the world as an accountant. He immigrated to Canada in 1983, where he spent his last years in Manitoba, primarily in the Interlake area. Rein was a member of the Gimli Rotary Club and active locally in volunteer work. The last few years he spent in the Red River Place Nursing Home, where he received the medical and personal care from very dedicated staff and doctors for which he will always be grateful. A memorial service in celebration of Reins life will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Reins family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who supported him in his final years in his struggle with medical problems and loneliness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reins name to the Red River Place Personal Care Home, 133 Manchester Ave., Selkirk, MB R1A 0B5. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
